asset_pulse โ€” The full read on any company โญโ€‹

The central tool. Call this whenever someone asks "how is X doing?" for a company, ETF, or crypto. It fans out to five sub-calls in parallel server-side and returns everything in one response:

  • Price โ€” current level, 1wโ€“1y changes, distance from 52-week high (drawdown), realized vol percentile, volume conviction โ€” all with plain-language *_read labels
  • Impact โ€” recent news that moved the ticker: direction, impact channel (aspect), plain-language why
  • Options โ€” what the US options market is pricing in: put/call lean, IV percentile, dealer gamma, max-pain level, notable expiries (~547 US-optionable names only)
  • Relationships โ€” direct competitors and theme-based peers, to see if a move is sector-wide or company-specific
  • Fundamentals โ€” revenue, margins, free cash flow, and auto-detected financial anomaly flags (common stocks only)

The key insight is synthesizing where these lenses agree or diverge โ€” strong news but options paying up for downside? That's the story.

Key params:

ParamDescription
tickerMarketIV format; use find_stock first if unsure. For a market index, use its liquid ETF proxy: S&P 500 โ†’ SPY, Nasdaq 100 โ†’ QQQ, Dow โ†’ DIA, Russell 2000 โ†’ IWM
windowScopes the news recency: 7d, 30d, 90d, 180d, 1y, mtd, qtd, ytd

commodity_pulse โ€” Gold, oil, copper, and moreโ€‹

Same multi-lens structure as asset_pulse but tuned for commodities: price context, supply/demand news drivers, onshore vs offshore price divergence where relevant, and COT futures positioning.

The q parameter takes natural-language commodity names in any language:

InputWhat it resolves to
"gold" / "เธ—เธญเธ‡เธ„เธณ" / "้ป„้‡‘"GOLD.COMM
"oil" / "crude" / "เธ™เน‰เธณเธกเธฑเธ™"WTI.COMM / BRENT.COMM
"copper" / "เธ—เธญเธ‡เนเธ”เธ‡"COPPER.COMM / COPPER_CN.COMM
"natural gas"NATGAS.COMM
"carbon"CARBON_EU.COMM

Some metals have both an LME (USD) and an onshore-China (CNY) contract โ€” returned separately when both are relevant.

bond_pulse โ€” Interest rates and yield curvesโ€‹

For any question about government bond yields, interest rates, or the yield curve. Returns the full curve (2Y, 5Y, 10Y, 30Y), the 2s10s slope (negative = inverted = recession signal), rate-sensitive macro news, and options positioning on relevant bond ETFs.

Example inputs for q:

  • "US rates" / "US yield curve" / "US 10Y"
  • "JGB" / "Japan bonds" / "10-year JGB"
  • "Bund" / "German rates" / "ECB"
  • "UK gilts" / "SOFR" / "Fed funds rate"

Rate moves are narrated in basis points (not percentages) โ€” the correct convention for yield changes.

For rate forecasts, the tool also includes positioning on bond ETFs (TLT, IEF) showing what the options market is pricing in for future moves.

theme_pulse โ€” Sector and theme concept readsโ€‹

When the question is about a sector or theme concept rather than a specific company. Resolves the concept across three independent taxonomies and returns each cohort separately:

  • MarketIV megatrend โ€” the curated thematic cohort
  • GICS sector โ€” the official sector classification cohort
  • ETF options โ€” options positioning on the most liquid sector/theme ETF (e.g. SMH for semiconductors)

Example q values: "semiconductors", "AI", "banks", "energy", "biotech", "clean energy", "EV".

Optional country scopes to one market (e.g. country="JP" for Japanese banks only).

stock_prices โ€” Price context onlyโ€‹

Returns the price picture for one ticker: current level, windowed returns (1w/1m/3m/6m/1y), 52-week range, drawdown from the peak, realized volatility percentile, and volume conviction โ€” all with pre-computed read labels. Also works for bonds (.GB), rates (.MM), and commodities (.COMM).

Use this when the question is purely about price โ€” not news or positioning.

stock_prices_batch โ€” Watchlist snapshotโ€‹

Same as stock_prices but accepts up to 50 tickers at once. Returns results in input order plus an unresolved list for any tickers not found.

Useful for: "Show me prices for my tech watchlist" or "How are AAPL, MSFT, GOOGL, META doing today?"

portfolio_pulse โ€” Your portfolio in the newsโ€‹

A news-driven read on your portfolio's holdings as a group โ€” which positions are in the news, direction of impact, and how the overall book looks from a sentiment angle.

Requires a portfolio_id โ€” use list_portfolios first if you don't have it. For a deeper numerical analysis (returns, attribution, drawdown, composition), use portfolio_context instead.
